Despite its popularity, there are still many people who are resistant to the idea of online dating. They fight the urge to join in the fun because they just do not think that it is for them. Sure, there are plenty of “downs” when it comes to the idea but overall, you are more likely to meet the person you want to spend your life with when you give it a try and let the computer do the leg work for you.

If you are one of these people who is not sure if it is the right choice for you, then consider these three signs.

1. Busy is Your Name – Single adults today are overworked and underpaid which means they have little to no time for the hassle of dating. And let’s be honest, it is a hassle. If you are anything like I was back when I worked three jobs, went to school full time and was starting a business then you do not have time for blind dates or set-ups with by your friends.

Online dating allows you to meet people in your area and establish a connection before you commit to a date. It streamlines the process – saving you time and energy. It’s so simple that you can respond to messages while you are in the bathroom and it will not even take any extra time out of your day.

2. You Hate Rejection – If you go out to a bar and hit on a cute girl and she turns you down then the rejection stings. When this happens repeatedly, it stings even more. No one really likes rejection despite all that happy-thinking that the more “No’s” you get the sooner you will get a yes.

Online dating helps eliminate the chance of getting rejected by helping you filter out potential mates from those where a relationship would never work. By the time you get to that first date, you have already gotten to know this person a little bit and hopefully established a meaningful connection to start your relationship off on the right foot.

3. You Like to Be Selective – When you have particular tastes for another person, you know it. Dating in the real world typically involves a few too many people who aren’t quite up to your standards. This can be annoying and make it feel like your dating life is a waste of your time. Online dating sites let you first filter people out based on their race, age, parental/marriage status, smoking/drinking habits and more. From there, you can peruse the users who have similar personalities and interests as you before making that initial communication attempt.

The filtering process helps you get to that first date with confidence that this person is more likely to be up for the challenge of dating you than the girl sitting next to you at the bar.
With nearly 100 different types of dating sites out there, there is sure to be one that is just right for you. Give it a try!
